The short answer
If you are going to use GrapheneOS, any of the four Pixel 10 models gives you the same level of security. The system is the same, the protections are the same and updates reach all of them at once. What you pay extra for as you move up the range is camera, screen, battery and finish, not privacy.
So the useful question is not "which one is the most secure?" but "how much phone do I need?". This guide helps you answer it.
The four models at a glance
| Model | Who it is for | Securfy price |
|---|---|---|
| Pixel 10a | Maximum protection at the lowest price | €750 |
| Pixel 10 | The balance: full daily use without going Pro | €900 |
| Pixel 10 Pro | A Pro camera in a comfortable size | €1,200 |
| Pixel 10 Pro XL | Many hours of screen time and the biggest battery | €1,500 |
Prices as of 2 November 2026, with the device configured and a 2-year warranty and support included. Current prices are always in our GrapheneOS phones for sale page.
What is the same on all four
GrapheneOS has no "lite" version for cheaper models. On all four Pixel 10 phones we install the official release and apply the same configuration:
- USB-C port limited to charging, to close off data extraction by cable.
- Scrambled PIN keypad, so nobody can learn your code by watching you.
- Duress password that wipes the phone if you are forced to unlock it.
- No Google services out of the box, with every app isolated; if an app needs them, they run sandboxed with no special privileges.
- Security updates for the whole life of the device: Google has committed to seven years of updates for Pixels from the 8 series onwards.
If you want to understand what GrapheneOS does under the hood, we explain it in what is GrapheneOS.
Pixel 10a: the entry point, with nothing cut
The 10a is Google's "a" series: a more compact body, simpler materials and camera, and a clearly lower price. For use centred on communications (Signal, email, browsing, banking) you will not miss anything.
Choose it if you want full protection and the phone is a tool, not a treat. It is also the best option as a second work phone.
Pixel 10: the balance
The standard Pixel 10 moves up a step in screen, camera and finish without reaching Pro prices. It is the model we recommend to most people who will use their phone for everything: work, everyday photos and personal life.
Choose it if you are torn between the 10a and the Pro: it is almost always the right answer.
Pixel 10 Pro: a Pro camera in a comfortable size
The 10 Pro adds the Pro camera and screen while staying easy to use with one hand. It makes sense if you take a lot of photos or video and do not want a big phone.
Choose it if the camera really matters to you. If not, the Pixel 10 gives you the same protection for €300 less.
Pixel 10 Pro XL: the biggest
The Pro XL has the largest screen and battery in the range. It is made for people who spend many hours a day on their phone and do not want to think about charging it.
Choose it if the phone is your main work tool and the size does not bother you.
What if I already have an older Pixel?
GrapheneOS also runs on the Pixel 8 and 9, and they will keep receiving updates for years. You do not need a new phone to use it. If you are thinking of installing it yourself, first read what installing GrapheneOS really involves: installing is the easy part; configuring it properly is not.
Choosing in 30 seconds
- Tight budget or second phone: Pixel 10a.
- One phone for everything: Pixel 10.
- You take lots of photos: Pixel 10 Pro.
- Big screen and maximum battery life: Pixel 10 Pro XL.
